Popular Collectible Model Airplanes

The collector's work is never truly done. While there are many varieties of collectible items, the model airplane remains one of the most popular and widespread. Their well-known outlines and designs readily appeal to any collector, especially one who knows a thing or two about modern aircraft. Ranging from fast and sleek interceptor aircraft, such as the F-22 Raptor, to the instantly recognizable outline of the Boeing 747, these planes provide an enormous variety of models that appeal to connoisseurs of the modern age.

Futuristic model airplanes

Even aircraft that do not exist yet have some representation in the model airplane world. These are based on theoretical designs for planes that are expected to exist in the future to completely original aircraft designed by the manufacturer. Much of the time, these kinds of model airplanes are found on the tabletops of miniature wargames, but plenty of others exist for the collector who is interested in looking ahead to the future.

Whether a collector is inclined to delve into the past, enjoy the present or look to the future, collectible model airplanes provide a huge variety of items to put on display. They are either fully assembled and ready for the display case upon purchase, or they can provide collectors with an extra activity in building and painting them.
